My fitness routine...

I put this together the other day as I was just doing what I felt like each day, sometimes only going for a walk :embarassed: I want to know, am I doing not enough? Too much? What other things can I add in there?

Monday - Wii Fit step with 2lb weights, 30min walk, Just Dance, 30DS
Tuesday - Wii Fit step no weights, 30min walk, C25K, Zumba
Wednesday - Wii fit step no weights, C25K, 30min walk, Just Dance, 30DS
Thursday - Wii fit step with 2lb weights, 30min walk, Zumba
Friday - Wii fit step no weights, C25K, 30min walk, Just Dance, 30DS
Saturday - rest day - weigh on on Sunday
Sunday - Wii fit step no weights, C25K, Just Dance

The C25K is literally at the moment just the first week, the Just Dance is 5 songs but putting my all into them, and the Zumba is also on the wii which is the beginners classes on there at 20mins long.

Over the last month I've gone from completely sedentary (literally just lounging on the sofa) to doing some form of exercise nearly every day. My fitness levels are pathetically low and I suffer from hypertension caused by hyperthyroidism. Which means before taking my beta blocker I'm too out of breath to do cardio and after I've taken it, my HR goes sky high when doing cardio but not half as high as it does if I do cardio without taking it (does that make any sense?!). This makes it really hard to know what my target and max heart rate should be  (any help with that also welcomed!)

I have a Fitbit and a Polar FT1 heart rate monitor - I wear the Fitbit all day and night and the HRM when doing cardio stuff. If you need any more info just ask

To me, it doesn't sound like your meds are right. I'd probably start with a visit to the doctor and see if you can get some better control of the hyperthyroidism and hypertension. It looks to me like you have peaks and troughs associated with taking the medicines which ideally should be evened out.
  • Agreed - Consult you doctor
