I am a female, clearly, I have purchased many a shoe in my lifetime but for some reason I cannot for the life of me find a comfortable workout shoe.

I wear ballet flats or flip flops most days, but when I go to work out (dance aerobics mostly) my feet cramp up so bad! So I thought it was the transition from my day flats, to my work out shoes. Nope.

I have running shoes, cross training shoes, walking shoes, Nikes, Pumas, Reeboks, Addidas... and every time, every shoe makes my feet cramp.

Is it something I am doing? Or is it the shoes? I love my workouts! I dred the pain. Please help me!!!!

Have you ever been fitted for running/fitness shoes? I've always been more comfortable in heels or flip flops than tennis shoes, but after a running injury last fall I went to a running store and got fitted. So get this... I wear an 8 or 8.5 in all other shoes, normal width. But my running shoes are a 9 Wide! Seriously. I was shocked. But now, it feels like I'm running on clouds. It might be worth a try!

I've noticed if I get them too big/wide it destroys my heals with blisters from the friction of the shoe rubbing up and down on my skin. :(

i'm going through the same kinda thing. i talked to a trainer at my gym and he gave me a great piece of advice that has been helping me a lot. he told me to go buy some tennis balls. when you're at home (i do it at work too since i sit at a desk all day) put the ball on the floor and roll your foot over it, pushing down slightly. this helps stretch out and massage the muscles in your feet and feels really good. sounded dumb until i tried it, now i do it all the time.
