Sometimes I forget...

I love MFP. I love the people I have met, the community they have built for themselves and welcomed me into, the support, the fun, everything. But sometimes I forget or don't really notice where someone has come from or how far they have come. I just am having too much fun chatting with them. I focus on their current profile picture amd their wit and don't allow what they have achieved to sink in.
Then out of the blue I will see someone's latest accomplishment and it will hit me: this person I chat with everyday about exercise and calories and life has lost almost a hundred pounds - or more!
Maybe it says something about my selfishness and my ego that I have not paid more attention before, but when I see something like that and it hits me I am always awed.
I came here really to get in shape and lose what was to me a significant amout of weight: 35 lbs. When I see friends who have lost two and three times that, how can I fail to be inspired?
So I guess this is just a general congratulations to all those who have lost, a keep at to all those who are losing and to those who might be discouraged: look around at your friends here on MFP and see how many have done it - and ARE doing it - and know that you can too.

Great to see some kudos and a happy post like this. You r so right! I too am inspired by those who have lost so much more than I will ever need to lose. These people are indeed heroes firstly to themselves and to their loved ones and thirdly us, their new lifelong friends in health and fitness!0
