So which is right?

Hi, I've just finished 55mins on the treadmill, which says that I burnt just over 200Calories, which I know isn't accurate. MFP estimates the same exercise session as 299Calories, but my HRM (One Body with chest strap) says 675.
Just so you know I'm 218lb, 5'1" with very short legs, meaning that much faster than 5.5km/hr and I have to jog and even 5km/hr feels uncomfortably fast to walk. Average speed was 4.75km/hr with a base of 4.5 working up to 5.3 and back down again.

Assuming your personal data has been entered correctly in the HRM I'd go with that. Based on your height & weight it wouldn't be unrealistic to be burning over 100 cal per km at that speed.0

Thanks, I'm still shocked at how many it said, but the state I was in when I finished I guessed it was over the 300 MFP was saying. Only thing now is that I've been under-eating the last few days as I've been basing exercise calories on what MFP told me.0

I can easily burn 300 calories in an hour on the treadmill. I'm 5'4" and 145-150lbs, so it is quite possible for you to burn more in the same time. I have very short legs for my height and I have to jog at anything over like 4.5.
If your HRM has been set up correctly, is worn correctly and is working correctly - I would go by that.0 -
I always go with my HRM. It is the only one set to me exactly. The equipment and MFP are just general averages based on our hgt, wgt, age and gender.
Excellent workout, by the way!0 -
Your HRM is the more accurate0

Assuming that your HRM is set up correctly with your height, weight, and age, I'd go with the HRM. For that weight, the calorie burn stat from your HRM seems reasonable0

I burn around 300 calories in half an hour on the treadmill, so your HRM seems like the safest bet.0

If you have a choice of a high or a low - I'd go for the low - or next week you will be wondering why you haven't lost weight
300 sounds high 200 a litle low ... 650 , I wish!!0 -
Depends on your speed but I usually burn estimated 100 calories for every 10 mins of running at a fast pace. 50 mins = 500 cals Seems legit. If you were walking though, i think the calorie count would come in quite lower.0

Well it seems quite consistant. Calorie count was about the same as Polar FT4 for Just Dance, and the reading was about the same tonight. But there's no way I can eat all the calories back.0

I've found that machines tell me that I've burned 100 cals per mile on average, if I'm running. 5'4" 140 to 170lbs over time. Bigger people get more cals credited.0
