Female: Losing weight but not belly fat!

Ok, so I haven't been on MFP that long and I have lost 6 pounds to date. However, I still have what I consider to be a gross little pot belly. It seems like no matter how much weight I lose it will not go away. I recently read some information that stated women often carry excess belly fat because of carb consumption. I am working on cutting back on the carbs. (so hard as I love bread) Is there anything else I can do to get rid of this belly? I also drink around 6-8 glasses of water daily so I am pretty sure it isn't water weight. Has anyone else had this problem?

Losing weight over all is the only way to truly reduce belly fat. Some women are carb sensitive, some women are not. Only way to find out is to try! You also might have a food sensitivity causing bloating too. Gluten, yeast and dairy are the top 3 offenders.

To help minimize the appearance of your belly fat, core exercises are good. Also try to minimize stress. When I'm really stressed out I get a little pot-belly going too. Yoga is great for both!

Finally, you might need to increase your water. I aim for 1/2 my weight in pounds as ounces of water. I usually drink way more than that though, because I don't count flavored beverages or other liquids I drink as water. It really helps minimize bloating when you drink that much! I will still retain some water, but nothing like I used to.

I asked a similiar question last week and I was suggested to do Burpees, blanks, push ups & crunchs. After 1 week of faithfully doing all 3 in addition to my normal cardio routines, I do think I have noticed that its smaller. I'm going to re-take pics after 1 month to get an accurate idea!!

Mine is a little saggy pooch below my belly button from having my son & a c-section

Fewer carbs, more protein, core exercises with weights, and a ton of patience because it takes time. I struggle with the last bit often.
