Clean Eating & Half Marathon

I'm going on vacation to Mexico in about three weeks. I'd like to go on a clean eating cleanse before we leave to get rid of a few pounds and some excess bloat/etc. My issue is that I'm running a half marathon two days before we leave on vacation. I'm worried about not getting enough calories in while training and runinng the half. Does anyone have suggestions of foods that will help me sustain my energy for my runs?

Thanks!

Lots of fresh fruits & veggies - keep you supplied with carbs and give you that extra fibre.

In the week leading up to the race, however, I would not suggest eating at a calorie deficit.

Yes, fruits and veggies will give you the carbs you need and help with the 'cleanse'

For me, I use Protein Drinks to help me get thru the days when I have long training runs (doing 1/2 in May).. Since I am both trying to lose weight (another 30 to go) and training at the same time, I know I am essentially shooting myself in the foot.. but I slog thru it.. and eat back my exercise calories as much as I can..

-like Brian suggested, I don't plan to have any deficit the week of my race either and honestly, I'm really looking forward to the carbo load the night before!! (huge spaghetti dinner planned!)
