Calories per step

I just got a pedometer (whatever it is) that counts steps. Does anybody know how many calories are in a step? Or how many steps equal 100 calories or something along those lines so I know what to shoot for??

    I think that it all depends on how fast your are going. The only way to know for sure how many calories you are burning is to get a heart rate monitor. I have the Reebok or Pro Form Precision XT. I got mine on ebay and they sell from $35-$45.


    I just did a search and it came up with something that said for every 20 steps you take, you burn 1 calorie. I am not sure how accurate that is though.
