Hey all,
I just got my HRM not to long ago and it is currently calculated to my resting/maxium HR etc. After my workout my Polar HRM tells me how many mins I was in "fat burn" zone vs, "fitness" zone. (Fat burn zone is a slower HR than fitness zone) Im confused. I know I burn more in "fitness" zone but Im acutally really trying to tone up. So Im wondering if I should try to stay in the "fat burn" zone instead. Ive checked the Polar website for further reasoning but couldnt find anything. Does this happen to anyone else and what do you recommend?!

I don't understand it well enough to explain (there are articles you can Google), but the current advice is to work out intensely if you want to burn fat. You will burn fat if you stay in the fat burning zone, but you have to exercise considerably longer (much, much longer) to get the same calorie-burning effect that you get in the higher zone.
