People who do not want to take NO for an answer

I went to a community meeting yesterday and there were refreshments. I had already had dinner and wasn't hungry. The head of the social committee offered me something to eat or drink and I politely declined. I even stated that I'd had dinner, but she just kept insisting. She finally cornered me the third time with cookies and lemonade in hand and practically shoved them at me. I took them and stood there and finally put them on a table and left.

What's is wrong with people?
