Moving at work??

I'm a cashier at a fairly busy grocery store so you're doing a lot of standing but we do move constantly, back and forth scanning stuff, sometimes walking around the till to put bags in the carts, so tons of lifting, especially this weekend with all the HUGE easter turkeys people are buying.
So I've been wondering, do you think this burns a lot of calories? And should I be entering this somehow in my exercise log? On average I'd say I work about 6 hours, 4 times a week, i feel like that could add up

I also have a fairly active job. I entered "lightly active" at the start and don't add up calories lost by just moving around.
  • oh ya that makes sense, forgot we say how active we are at the beginning, guess that would kind of take that into consideration

Did you enter that as your normal activity when you signed up? If so I wouldn't enter it. On the other hand, if you entered sedentary, then go change it to lightly active. If there is another option for it, I don't know it.

I entered sedentary, but then I have had to go out in the field and work instead of just being in the office sitting. When I go out it is hours of wall washing or hours of heavy house cleaning, there is a house cleaning option in the exercise so I do enter it. But I only do this because it is not part of my normal activity. Hope that helped.
  • Yeah like the other poster said I would put your activity level as lightly active. It's going to estimate your calorie needs based on that additional movement. Just remember every bit helps!
