so, who else loves charity shops and the allure of bargains galore? :D

Just popped to one of local ones and bought a black grandad style shirt brand new, chino style skinny jeans, a big faux leather belt with brass buckle and brass coloured charm necklace -All for £8!
Boyfriend took some photos and said i looked like an pirate! lol

Our house is full of charity shop knick knacks and most my wardrobe is second hand (though admittedly some of that is from hating normal shops), we even have some big household items such as a wooden fireplace surround.

So what bargains have you bought recently?

Haven't really thought of going to charity shops for clothes and stuff. I have been buying a lot of stuff from eBay recently as I refused to spend a lot on stuff that won't fit me in a couple of months.

Ima get myself down to one I think :-))

I am poor as hell, so the Salvation Army is my Wal-Mart

And I do pretty well clothing a family of 4 (well, disreguard my profile picture)

    Plus, furnished my house.

Plus get books, toys, and filled my kitchen.

    Yay for thrift stores!

Love consignment shops for clothes. Goodwill for jeans. Hate to put a lot of money into new clothes when I know that I'm going to get even smaller.

Love them and car boot sales. I love a bargain and I love looking for gorgeous vintage items of clothing although when I used to volunteer I know the branch I was in would mainly get rid of vintage stuff unless it was good enough for fancy dress and then it was only wheeled out near Christmas and New Year. I convinced them to let some stuff go out but a lot of the stuff they were chucking I got to take - although I always made a donation for them as the rags make them money.

yeah it's a shame that so many ignore the vintage clothes. I bought a beautiful 60s wedding dress from a charity shop a couple years back for about £2. Washed it and sold it via a friends vintage shop for £80!
