I will be starting NROLFW soon. I go to a busy gym so there's always people on the squat rack, benches etc. If I need it, am I supposed to wait by the machine til they are done or what? Or go do something else in the mean time? When I finish a set that requires 60 sec rest, should I stay on the machine or let someone jump in? Id probably only be doing 2 sets at most. If someone could just give me some general weight room etiquette that would be great :)

Here is a really funny video on weight room and gym etiquette. It is mainly a joke, but has some good points.

Unless thier using the same weight as you, better to stay and not let anyone jump in with racking and re-racking weights and all. I always go do something else because I rarely have enough time to hand and wait. Other than that, there are just a few standard etiquette points that I can think of. Don't grunt loudly. Don't bang your weights down at the end of a set and always, always, always re-rack your weights when you are done! There are few things that are more agravating than walking up to an empty squat rack or bench that has weights on the bar and looking around trying to figure if someone is working there or not and then having to re-rack thier weights for the bozo that couldn't do it for themselves!!

I ask how long they will be and decide from their answer as to whether I will wait or go ahead and do something else. I also stay on my machine or bench until I'm done with my sets. As was posted above, too much racking and re-racking weights will make it slower then just finishing the sets. Also, wipe down the benches and stuff when you are done with them. I hate laying down on a bench in a puddle of someone else's sweat. You've heard the Golden Rule, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." That pretty much sums up weight room etiquette.
