    Um.

bicycling is when you are actually riding a bike
    spinning refers to stationary bicycles
and recumbent is a different kind of bicycle

A recumbent bicycle is a bicycle that places the rider in a laid-back reclining position. Most recumbent riders choose this type of design for ergonomic reasons; the rider's weight is distributed comfortably over a larger area, supported by back and buttocks. On a traditional upright bicycle, the body weight rests entirely on a small portion of the sitting bones, the feet, and the hands.

No source for this, but I think "spinning" refers to riding a normal stationary bike (indoor bicycle) but aiming for a certain speed and exertion level that is optimized. It's usually done as part of a guided class.

Bicycling is going for a regular outdoor bicycle ride, either in a regular upright bike or a recumbent bike!
