Some Good Things since starting to up cals

Over the past few weeks I have started to up my calories, it's gradual but I've really noticed that even though I've lost no weight as of yet. I have however lost inches (from working out) other things I've noticed are my grumpiness and snappiness has reduced dramatically and I am sleeping sooooo well. I've always been a terrible sleeper, used to take ages to fall asleep and I'd wake every couple of hours, now I go to bed and I'm asleep within 15/30 minutes and not waking till my alarm goes off (7 - 8 hours a night) I also feel so much more energised throughout the day.

On a normal working week I get up at 5/5-30 and do half hour to an hour interval workout have breakfast shower sort kids out and off to work, weekends are different don't get up as early but I'm still getting up feeling refreshed and ready to face whatever my day throws at me.

I know it will take time for the lbs to go down but I'm in no rush where as before I wanted it off quickly and it just went straight back on again. This is a lifestyle change NOT a diet! I'm still learning how BMR and TDEE works but I'm finally getting my head round it! As the saying goes "slow & steady wins the race" would also like to thank helloitsdan for his words of wisdom and advice and LorinaLynn for her inspirational blog and threads :) there are also quite a few others but I can't remember all their names Oooopps x

I'm doing the same! A little weight lost, have much more energy, starting to feel hungry again (which is good, was weird when I wasn't), and feel in so much more control!

Oh, and LorinaLynn does indeed rock :)

If you were severely restricting your calories before - it can take a month (or sometimes more!) for your body to catch up and realize you are feeding it more. I would expect the weight loss to start again after a month or so after you've upped your calories. :)

    Congrats and good luck!

I joined the eat more weigh less group on here... and, since I upped my calories to about 2100 per day, I've started dropping weight again!

Yes, it's nice not feeling snarky all the time *grin*

    Keep up the good work!

I'm also upping my calories and after a couple of months have noticed a huge difference, and I'm getting to enjoy my food also. Eating more is giving me the energy to be more active, I'm burning more, eating more and am now losing more

Before I would eat under 1200 cals sometime under 1000 a day all week then just pig out on crap pizzas chips etc... Now I'm eating healthier (still have pizza and chips but not to the extent that I was and was feeling sick and sluggish from it) I've still got a way to go to up my cals to a decent amount but I'm getting there :) x

I was exactly the same, I was torturing myself. Cutting out so much in the week but eating more at the weekend, I put on so much weight. I like being able to have a little of what I fancy, and I've not introduced pasta, potatoes, rice and bread back in to my normal every day meals! I'm just being more careful with my portion sizes but I have plenty of treats.
