Easter baskets

It feels like we are the only parents we know who have given up on Easter baskets and candy galore. I hardly feel the need to keep filling my children with candy when my country (and myself) has suffered from obesity. Instead we will have an awesome dinner, movie and snacks during movie. When I grew up we had candy for weeks on end afterwards. Don't get me wrong, we will still do Halloween (not sure how I will try to change that up as well) but it seems doing it more than once out of the year feels like I'm training my kids that candy all year round is a good thing. My kids haven't said anything though, they don't feel left out at all.
Does anyone else do anything different with their kids after making their own lifestyle changes?

Last year when I started to lose weight my mom bought me a shirt and a movie instead of candy. Loved it!0
