Easter lunch/brunch/dinner/treats and staying on track

Just curious if you are having a big Easter meal and what you will have to stay on track. I'm cooking lunch for a small party, and will have all the traditional 'trimmings' but have engineered it so I can stay on point.
I'll be making a spiral ham (which I can have in small quantitites if I cut off the glazed crust - boo hiss!)
green beans sauteed with a little bacon and onions
a big salad
and macaroni and cheese (for others).
rolls (for others)
Today I'm baking the carrot cake for tomorrow - while chewing some very minty gum so I don't get any cravings needless to say I will not be having any tomorrow. I'll take over my sugar free jello while everyone else is having dessert.

We do a potluck and when everyone brings something for lunch there really ends up being too much food. Even a small taste of everything is too much. So, instead of bringing something for lunch, I volunteered to bring breakfast for everyone after church. I'm bringing Greek Yogurt, fresh berries and tangelo sections!0

we are having leg of lamb, rosmary small potatoes, steamed asparagus and pineapple bliss cupcakes. all of the recipies are from skinnytaste.com
when we are going to someones house for dinner, I eat a little lighter in the day, still try to stay as close to point, but still treat myself to a smaller portion of something that isn't really good for me once in a while, espically if i am doing good.0 -

I don't know what I am going to do because I am going to my sister's house and I have no idea what she is having! LOL I am just going to practice moderation and good choices....modest servings, stay away from the really sugary/fatty stuff. Then I will come home tomorrow night and go for a walk at the park with the hubs and fur kids and start fresh on Monday.
In the future, I will "bank" some calories for "bad" days, but the whole miscalculation of my exercise calories this week resulted in me staying put on the scales.0 -
Brunch--eggs scrambled with spinach, mushrooms and onion, bacon. I will skip the cinnamon roll that DH will have.
Dinner: chicken cordon blue, green salad, fruit skewers, and brown rice pilaf. DD is bringing dessert so she gets the leftovers.0 -
I have never done an easter meal, so it will just be my regular sort of food... boiled trout, brown rice or sweet potato and broccoli.
I had a big chocolate pig out this morning, so I have had my easter treats, in quadruple form.
Fortunately, I cycle a lot and so far, it isn't showing on the scales.0 -

around the end of december a friend of mine here said "people are too concerned about what they should eat between christmas and new years, when they should be more concerned about what they should eat between new years and christmas."
in other words, don't worry about the few and far between days, as long as you are on point the rest of the year.0 -

You know, I can appreciate that mentality - but I'm not gonna get past it. I'm on a roll, and I don't want to blow it for Easter, so since I don't want to blow it, I'm going to plan around it. Nothing wrong with that. I'll splurge when I feel like it, not because of a calendar day or someone else's expectations. And it will be something I want - not 'just cuz its served' when I do splurge - and the key to that is to plan.0 -
Going to my father in law's house. We are all bringing something. My brother in law is making the meat, not sure what kind. I am bringing a big veggie/fruit tray. I also am using the recipe I saw here for angel food cake with lemon pie filling (85 calories per piece). Might take the fixings for a big salad as well,
I also plan to get up tomorrow and do a workout on my elliptical and maybe an exercise dvd to give me extra calories if I decide I want them.
Mostly, I will plan on focusing more on visiting with everyone there and less on the food. Often we all sit around the table and talk. But I am planning on moving away from the table as soon as I am done eating so I wont be tempted to pick at more food.

so true, and i did enjoy yesterday and back on track today.
