Can anybody suggest one? I don't need a super fancy one and would like to keep it under $100...

Thanks!

It's a really nice HRM and very cheap.

Are you looking for a gps enabled one? My garmin was 160 at Cosco, I think that's probably the best price around, although check amazon. It's a 305 forerunner by the way

I have the forerunner 205. Did yours already come with the maps you needed? I live in Ontario, Canada and I can't figure out how to upload the right maps. I guess I'll have to call support for help.

I just got a Reebok for about 55 on Amazon and so far I like it....it tracks calories and distance, fat and %, tells you how often you were above, below or in your target heart rate. It has a chest strap so it more accurately calculates calories burned than those without the chest strap (and I don't notice the strap is there after a minute or two).

I'll get the exact name of it for you, hang on.

Wow, that's a good price for the forerunner 305. I want a Garmin!!! (or a Nike +) but they are pricey.
I have not found anything under $100.00 that tracks distance (GPS) and heart rate. Most of the cheaper ones are HRMs only.

It's the Reebok RBK Precision Trainer XT Heart Rate Monitor. Double check the specs to make sure it tracks distance....I'm sure it does, but I JUST got it and I am still trying to figure it all out so I am not 100% certain that it does.

I use a separate HRM and ped. Total 60 bucks. Sometimes I just want the HRM and sometimes I just want distance.

I'm interested to see the price of a combo unit that's affordable too.

I don't think I've even broke the surface with my Garmin, it does soooo much, I have no ideas about the maps though. I just use it for my pacing and to log cals and watch my hr.

I got mine from Wal Mart. Paid about 40 bucks for it. it does time, calories, alarm, tracks gender and age for heart rate. It works great for what I need. you have to check your pulse from time to time to get accurate calories, but not a problem. Make sure you get one with calories, they make one without. I had to buy a second one cause the first one did not have caloreis. I love mine.,

I wish my HRM did distance. When I come home from a walk or a run I map it on Google Earth to check the distance.

Im not sure if it tracks distance or not, but i just bought a Polar F6 off ebay for 60, and am anxiously waiting its arrival. A friend of mine has one and she loves it. im sure if the F6 doesnt track distance then Polar makes one that does.

I actually use my cell phone.
It doesn't have an actual hear rate monitor but it takes your age, gender, height, current weight to help figure that part out. But it does tell me the distance I have gone and how many calories I have burnt. There are settings for walking and you can put on a step counter so it tells you how many steps you took (you calibrate it to your stride first), then you can check the distance and the calories. There is also settings for running but I haven't gotten to use those just yet but I plan to someday :)
Its got a walkman in it too and the option for a radio station so you can listen to music while you run too.

The model is the W580i from sony, I think I paid like $60 for it.
