1) Can you drink too much water?
2) Should you count the water if you have added Crystal Light or something similar?

typically, you can drink too much water, from what i heard. you could actually drown yourself. but i think in order to do that you would need to drink gallons and gallons a day. i also have read that your water intake is at a good level if you wake up once in the night to pee and if thru out the day your pee is clear. i am sure people here know more than me and can give you better advice.
i don't add anything to my water, but have read on here that people to count crystal light and stuff like that as water. i have read that people count coffee. i feel if that is true, then adding barely and hops to it should count too, but i don't count it.
water is water, everything else isn't.

Drinking a large quantity of water all at once can be fatal, as it can lower the concentration of electrolytes in your body to a dangerous level. However, that takes a very large amount of water (gallons) in a very short amount of time, or, more typically, it occurs during heavy exercise with excessive sweating and drinking only water for hydration without replenishing sodium and potassium. Also, the body only absorbs small amounts of water at a time, so chugging 16 ounces of water at once, while not fatal, is wasteful, as most of it will just be eliminated without actually serving any useful purpose.
2. Yes.
Everything you drink counts toward hydration. Even a lot of the food you eat counts toward your hydration. Your body is incredibly efficient at extracting water for hydration, from any source. So, water, Crystal Lite, soda, beer, wine, all of it hydrates.0 -

It does count. In the 1700's beer was the safest thing to drink, as the water was polluted. People weren't dehydrated then. :drinker:0
