What does everyone think of it? Does it actually help you recover?

Pure L Glutamine is a great supplement. If I only had enough money to purchase 1 supplement this would be it.
I have used it for over 20 years, 1 tablespoon each day. I am fit and healthy, weight lift heavy regularly and am a very young 61 year old.
It repairs and protect your whole body. I buy it by the kilo.

    What Acg said.

There isn't any benefit to supplementing glutamine.

However, the suggested reasons for taking glutamine supplements (support for immune system, increased glycogen synthesis, anticatabolic effect) have received little support from well-controlled scientific studies in healthy, well-nourished humans.

This is prob one of the better designed studies on Glutamine

Effect of glutamine supplementation combined with resistance training in young adults. Eur J Appl Physiol. 2001 Dec;86(2):142-9.
