Having real motivation issues atm.

Not eating right, exercise has gone out of the window (doesn't help that I'm on call atm so where I go the on call book, phone, info docs and pen has to go) :frown:

Any suggestions for getting back on track?

Stress is an issue atm and it's really showing with my diet and fitness. The signs of the depression sneaking back are starting to show so trying to ward it off (thought I'd put that black dog down a while ago...)

My thoughts on this would be...one step at a time, one day at a time. Do one thing today, now to put you back on track. Even if it's a tiny thing like making a decision to eat a healthier snack or meal.

Try not to think of the whole situation...one step, one day, one victory.

You can do this, you were doing it, you can do it again. You don't have to have a huge change at the moment...just one small one, today.

Sorry to hear about things falling apart. I know how that goes as I lost 3 friends over the winter and that set my weight back. Here is what I am doing to get back on track.

I started to eat more veggies to get my nutrition back on track. Certain veggies helped me, purple cabbage and broccoli sprouts, experiment for yourself.

If you cannot jog, walk in the sunlight for as long as you can.

I have a couple of friends that I talk to and confide in, find your core support.

Point is, don't let other things get you down. Work, pay your bills, but really focus on eating veggies and walking in the sun and learn to value your health and fitness. Take it in small steps, if you must, but you have to start doing it.

Depression begins by sleeping too much so don't sleep past 8 hours (average time).

I'm sorry, I did laugh at your title - which I think shows that you've not completely lost it! Like Migo says: take it one step at a time, look at your diet first - remember it all starts with what you're eating.

Keep looking at the things you HAVE done: you're on MFP so you're obviously ready to start the journey, you're posting for help - which means you want to keep on track, you're recognising the problems.....You've done SO many GOOD things so far. I know the feeling of fighting depression, and I have to say, since I started exercising more regularly it's become much less of a battle.

You're stronger than you could ever know, don't give up this fight! :)

What about downloading yourself some of the workout DVDs, like 30 day shred / Ripped in 30?

I personally don't love exercising (martial arts training being the only exception), but I find that 30 min goes by surprisingly quickly.
And once you've watched it a few times, you can leave it playing on a laptop and watch some TV while you sweat it out
