Question!

So i just got back from a 50 minute walk (3.8 Mph to be exact) it was a preset workout on a treadmill called "hill". and i burned 400 calories, But i also had a 60 pound ruck sack on my back for the whole duration. Do you burn more calories with a variable like mine? or is it still just 400 calories? and if so, how do you calculate that?

You can find an online calculator that will allow you to enter your time, speed and weight. Just add the weight of the pack to your weight and the calories should adjust accordingly.

I'm not really internet savvy, would you happen to know a link off the top of your noggin?

I just googled it. I don't know how accurate it is but it should give you a good round-a-bout answer.

You could easily calculate calories burned walking on level ground, or with a consistent incline. However, if you did a variable incline program, then all you can do is make a rough guess.

In the future if you do this same program, just add the weight of the rucksack to the weight you input into the machine at the start of the workout and, if you don't hold on to the handrails, the calorie numbers should be pretty close.

If the treadmill doesn't allow you to input your weight, they you are out of luck.

Yea, i wasn't sure if i should have put in the total weight or just my personal weight, so i just did personal weight. and it shows i burnt at least 470 calories, which seems more reasonable.
