You can't spot reduce. Where your body stores fat is genetic. All you can do is: 1. Burn more calories (keep walking). Eat fewer calories.
If you reduce your calories by @ 500 through diet or exercise, you will gradually loose fat. Where it comes off first is genetic.0 -
Zumba has done wonders for me. It really works to tone up the legs and abs. I do both the class and the Wii Fit game.0

Leg Lifts
This simple ab exercise is a favorite punishment drill for coaches and drill instructors around the globe. But don’t let that deter you, because it’s also a very effective way to strengthen your lower abdominal muscles and hip flexors. Lying flat on your back, raise your feet 6 inches off of the floor. Raise your left leg straight up while your right leg remains 6 inches off of the ground, lower your left leg and then raise your right leg up into the air. It helps to do this exercise to a cadence. Try doing this in a four count manner, for example (leg leg up -1; left leg down-2; right leg up-3; right leg down-4). The cadence would go like this: 1…2…3…1…1…2…3…2…1…2…3…3…and so on. Again, these are a great lower ab exercise. Make sure your feet stay off of the ground for all of the repetitions. Try them out!0 -
As another poster said, Can't spot reduce.
Keep eating a deficit and start weight lifting.. soon that flab will be fab0 -

yep, with strong emphasis on clean diet and weight training0 -
Nope you can't spot reduce. The flab will fall off where it wants to. Zumba is awesome. You will definitely shed the inches doing it and strength training is a must. Lifting heavy will definitely change your body's composition.0

You can't spot-reduce or "tone" anything, but exercise is important. If you have a lot of back problems, maybe consider swimming and water aerobics to start with. Walking is great, too, but swimming gets your entire body moving and is low/no impact.
Oh, and be patient - it takes time.0
