How much protein??

MFP calculated that I should have 38 g of protein per day. This seems a bit low to me. How do I calculate protein? I am 46, 5'2 and 220 lbs. Should there be more? Can I adjust that number myself? Any help would be appreciated.

For you, I'd say 1g per 1lb LBM.

This is a good question - I need to review the macros. You know that I am not a healthcare prof, doctor, or trainer, etc. so take the following w/ a grain of salt. (Thought I'd post to keep the topic bumped, but also so that someone can disagree w/ me and give you a good answer!)

I've heard both the above (1 g of protein per 1# of Lean Body Mass), but I've also heard 1g of protein per 1# goal body weight.
Information for the latter approach can be found at the link below:

I'm hoping you get more responses to confirm, but I'm assuming it would be reasonable to aim for at least the 1g per 1# LBM and if you are hitting the 1 g per goal body weight pound, then you are getting plenty.

MFP's "stock" protein allotment is very low IMO. That is probably the first thing I changed on the site. As was previously stated, 1g/lb LBM is kind of the rule of thumb as a minimum.
