Quick question, weiging fruit

I have a quick question that has been bothering me. I tend to eat a lot of fruit and I want to be sure I am weighing it correctly. I am not sure if the database is set up so that you weight only the edible parts or the entire fruit. For example, my log shows a 7oz apple as a serving. I weighed it after cutting out the core and sectioning it. Should I be weighing the entire fruit before peeling or cutting it? I am not sure about fruits with thicker peels like bananas and oranges.
I am trying to not be overly fussy with my measurements but I know that some fruits can really add up so I want to be sure I am doing it right
