I officially signed up and paid to run in the Race for the Cure, Charlotte NC, in Oct. I've been doing the Couch to 5k program and I am on week 6 day 2 - I am so excited to run for the fitness aspect of it and that can and that I will be running as a Survivor--kind of a look what I've accomplished with my health and I kicked cancer's *kitten* and didn't let it bring me down!

Way to go. I find that signing up for races forces me to train. I am sure you will do fine in your first race. I am not very fast so I just think of it less as a race and more of a timed run with a bunch of people. Make sure and tell us how you do.

I think at this point if I went any slower it would be because I was going backwards....

Not worried about speed just the fact that I can do it is enough for now - speed will come later with more training.

    CONGRATS Chrissyh!!!!

My first 5k was the Race for a Cure in Richmond, VA. Can't imagine how rewarding it will be to run it as a survivor -- hats off to you!:drinker:

Good luck -- and great job!
