Cardio & Goals

I started doing a beach boot camp to compliment by 3 times a week workout with my personal trainer. When working out with my personal trainer, we do weight lifting and toning exercises. I've discovered that I get my *kitten* kicked when trying to do cardio. I am so out of breath and it hurts SO bad. I leave for Cabo in 5 1/2 weeks. My goal is to pull it together and lose 10 lbs before we go. Summer is closer and i need to get serious again.
I'd like to boost this weight lose by figuring out how to increase my cardio where I don't burn out and get upset because i have a hard time breathing. I can't even run 1/4 mile on the beach without feeling like I need an oxygen tank.

any advice for getting a jump start and what has worked for others on getting moving to doing more cardio?? I have a treadmill and spin bike at home...though the spin bike really hurts my butt, lol.

    Do you live near any hills? My cardio capacity and endurance increased greatly by putting on a weighted backpack and climbing hills as fast as my legs would carry me (walking - not running).

    Not to brag (ok... well, maybe a little) whenever I bike, run, walk, hike with others - they're usually toast long before I even feel a little bit tired. :bigsmile:

    each day, push ur self just a little bit more. this sounds like me a few months ago and now i can run 3 miles without stopping.

    You should have a DR & do a lung function test, It's possible you may have asthma.

    Spinning really improved my cardio level, I used a heart rate monitor and took a spinning class 3 days a week, the butt soreness goes away about 3 or 4 classes in, but you can also purchase a seat cover with a cusion in it, at Walmart and take it to and from class with you, that helped me out in the begining! Training to a Heart Rate Monitor will help you out a lot, keep an eye on your target heart rate, and make sure you don't push it too hard, you have to build up gradually, but you will be surprised how fast that happens when you are consistently going 3 days a week.
