Better workout, Crossfit or P90x?

    They are different. So one may be better for some things, worse for others. I did P90X a few years ago and now do XFit. I'm seeing better results with crossfit. I can give my pros and cons for each but they may be different for you.

    CrossFit Pros
    group atmosphere
    coach/trainer
    fast results
    constantly varied

    CrossFit Cons
    expensive
    my gym is an hour drive away

    P90X pros
    can do at home
    relatively inexpensive: high initial cost

    P90X Cons
    Takes a lot of space (my hubby and I were doing it together, had to do at his mom's house for big living room, not ideal)
    Long workouts
    Gets a little old

    Great Pros+Cons list. I would add that a Con (or Pro depending on which side of the coin you fall on) of Crossfit is that there can be an inconsistency with Crossfit facilities based on how knowledgeable the coaches/trainers are. I'd also add that a con of P90X is that there's no real interaction; I personally get annoyed by being "talked at."

    Don't forget to add that Tony Horton gets really annoying. Especially when you're working out first thing in the morning.

    I haven't tried Crossfit but I have done (and am currently adding in some workouts) P90x and enjoyed that. The workouts are long but they are designed for people who really want to build muscle and get in the best shape they can. Strength training is a big focus and I find their cardio workouts a bit boring so I prefer to mix up the workouts and add in things I enjoy for cardio (also Plyometrics is GREAT! but hard on the knees so you have to be careful)

    The main thing I would say about P90x is that it seems geared at people who have already had some experience with weight training. They don't talk a whole lot about proper form so I would say do the research first so you don't injure yourself. Personally I enjoy working out "with" Tony, he is amusing and keeps me motivated.

    I Xfit and agree with the above posters...i.e pros and cons -especially when it comes to the crossfit affiliate...Mine has very small class sizes (6 or less) whereas others in my area have rather large classes...

    i love crossfit, my gym did a taster session before i signed up so maybe you could ask the nearest place to you if you can have a taster. i love the group atmosphere it really pushes me to my limits xx
