Hi all..... So, I've managed to work off 97 extra pounds in the past year. My next goal.... obviously... it to blow through that 100lb mark. Now that I am getting so close to my optimal weight, I have to claw for every pound of loss. Do any of you have any advice for this part of the journey. Now....just to save everyone's time and no offense whatsoever to anyone's choice of method but..... I can't go paleo or vegan. My genetics are aparently just too well adapted to those nasty meats and carbs lol. I'm just a nasty without them. Is it possible to squeeze the last few pounds off and still eat foods that I like?

Of course it's possible to lose weight and still eat carbs and meat! :)

Change up your exercise routine. Push yourself, you're SO close. Then all you need to do is maintain.

I just wanted to say congratulations on your fantastic weight loss! I don't know the answer on what to do different to loose those last few pounds, I'm on the last leg of my journey as well and it's tough isn't it.

I think just keep going, what I'm doing is eating loads of fresh food, trying to get more of my carbs from fruit and veg and less from bread and grains.

Hopefully your friends are keeping you motivated as well, I certianly find that makes a big difference to me.

    Good luck

Petite....when you change up your routine.... what kind of changes do you make. Currently, I run 3-4 miles 3 days a week with a longer run on the weekend. I also do a small amount of strength training but mostly using my body weight vs. heavy lifting. Do yu have any particular recommendations?

Caroline.... Congratulations to you for getting where you want to be. As far as my own success....all I know is that if I can do it anyone can. By my own admission, I was the laziest junk-a-holic you could have ever met. I only started moving to earn more food because even the 2000 calories that I started out at wasn't enough...lol. Funny how the more you exercise, the more you want to exercise. Now, I get nervous and cranky without it. I do have a lot of family who have started losing themselves since I started so we all support each other as well as the friend here on MFP.
