Weight struggles after metformin

Good afternoon,

Just a quick question...I was on 500mg of metformin for about 2 years when I was borderline pre-diabetic. As of December, my sugar levels were in a normal range and my doctor said I no longer needed to be on metformin if I didn't want to take it. However, he cautioned I might have trouble continuing to lose weight if I went off it.

As you can guess, my weight has been at a standstill since then - just curious if anyone else has had a similar issue? It may not be related at all, but I'm wondering if going off metformin has contributed to my difficulty losing more weight.

Any insight would be appreciated :)
