medicine ball..

i received a 10 pound medicine ball for my birthday yesterday, and i am lost on what to do, or where to start with it. please recommend exercises that you use or know of with the medicine ball please :) especially any that can help with the midsection area! thank you so much!

    Google it and you will find 100's of things you can use it for. I have a little one, a couple of lbs and I through it in the air and catch it as I do deep knee bends. My hubby and I will play catch with it as well. There are many other things, just google it.:smile:

    You can start by laying on your back holding it over your head and do a sit up with it, bring it up and over and push toward your feet.

    One of my favorite things is having someone roll it on my back, its like getting a massage.:)

    Go to youtube and do a search. There are lots of things you can do with it.

    Yeah, checkout that link. Couple ideas...

    1. Medicine Ball Slams: Standup with the ball overhead and then slam it down into the ground, catch, and repeat.
    2. Throws: Either throw against a stone, brick, cement wall, or throw it into an empty area and chase it. With two hands hold it to your chest and throw it as hard as you can.
    3. Overhead throws: Stand with the ball in both hands just at chin-level and throw it straight-up in the air as hard as you can, you can use leg drive if you wish. Either stand and throw or stand, jump, and throw (like a push-press). I recommend AGAINST catching the ball, it's a good way to smash your face if you're not careful. :laugh:
    4. Hold to chest and do squat jumps
    5. Hold over your head and do walking lunges
