Any ideas or info you can give me on how to count calories or even nutrients for a home cooked meal? Honestly, if I don't figure this out, I'm probably doomed! (I had to move back in with my mom who cooks a lot.) Thank you!

  • There's a lot of 'homemade' stuff already listed here.
You can also put in the individual ingredients rather than the whole meal

    Oh, there's also this - http://www.myfitnesspal.com/recipe/calculator
If you can get your mom's recipes, you can put them in here :)

If you look under the "food" tab you can click on recipes and enter the exact ingredients for your dish. The site will save your dishes for you which is super handy for things you make on a semi-regular basis.

Something else I've done is just used other websites to look up the calorie counts for the exact amounts of my ingredients and just figured from there, then done a quick-add calories. Sorry I can't point you towards the other websites I was using, had a couple of sites in my favorites but that computer crashed recently.

Here lately I tend to use the recipe function here quite a bit because I've been trying to keep better track of my macros in addition to just calories, and it will figure all that for you too.
