I make a lot of smoothies for my daughter in our blender- strawberries, kale, bananas, ice, milk. I used to put a raw egg in hers for extra protein, but haven't done it for quite a while because of the health risks. You can't taste the kale with the bananas or other stuff.
I also use Advocare meal replacement shakes and add fruit to them in the blender. It keeps me full all morning.0 -
hemp seeds make smoothies really filling and they're a great source of all the omega 3, 6 and 9. You can also make savoury smoothies with lettuce, peppers, onion and add avocado to combine all the ingredients. Another great thing to make with blenders is soup, in some blenders if you let the mixture blend for 5 minutes the machine heats the soup so that it's perfect for eating straight out of the blender.
Other ingredients to consider are:
broccoli
brussel sprouts
mungbeans (for a really earthy taste)
seaweed (for a salty touch)
canteloupe - delicious with spinach, silverbeet or/and lettuce
nuts - almond milk is super easy, just throw two handfuls in with one litre water and blend for 5mins (add banana, carob and hemp seed for deliciously filling smoothies)
oh, and whole coconuts - flesh and milk are simply divine either sweet or savoury... I drink a 2litre green smoothie every morning and have done for the last year - absolutely LOVE THEM!0
