Father's Day

I don't typically spend fathers day/mothers day with my boyfriends family since we don't have kids so we just spend time with our own parents that day. But on Mothers day I send along a small bouquet of flowers for his mom, and last year for fathers day, wanting to do a little something for his dad too, I got him a $10 dunkin dounuts card.

Flowers are timeless and always appreciated, but I don't really want to do the dunkin donuts card for his dad again this year....any other suggestions for small but thoughtful (but not too thoughtful, lol) gift for a man that is sort of equivalent to flowers for a woman?

It doesn't help that both of his parents are seemingly hard to buy for....their spare fridge if filled with wine that they have gotten as gifts over the years, they have several restaurant gift cards waiting to be used on their fridge (thus the reason I don't want to get him a gift card again) and his dad seems to have no real interests outside of working and watching TV.

How about a photo of the two of you in a nice frame? Or a movie if he likes watching tv.

Does he play golf? What about a set of golf balls? I did that once for my boyfriends father and he loved it. It was more than just a card and yet not anything to extravagant. If he doesn't play golf....find out what he likes to do and get him something related to that. Just a thought. Happy Friday!!

That's a cute idea, very original.

if they like watching tv, how about a 6-month subscription to Netflix? I got this for my stepdad last Christmas (he is also notoriously hard to buy for) and he loved it.

Depends on how old he is but one year I got my Dad one of those remotes with the BIG OLD buttons. He loved it.
