lol I find it that i post on here a lot idk if that is good or bad, definately bad for my sales goal lol. Ok serious question, about a year ago in a routine check up my doctor found my blood pressure to be very high and had me watch it for a while of course being my father's daughter i was stubburn and did not monitor it as i was asked. I though "meh, i'm still young no biggie" well this year I was there again, and sure enough the blood pressure conversation came up. And the inevitable happened i was given blood pressure meds to control it. My questions is anyone here with HBP and do you have any tips for me workouts, cooking anything that will help keep stable aside from the usual take your pills and no salt. I inherited this from my dad and his mom so no getting away from it now but i would like to know what you do if you are in a situation like mine.

    Low sodium diet, weight loss and exercise is the only things that may help.

    I am very medical profession cynical

    You go for a check up your BP is elevated, they stress you it gets higher. A tendency at over caution and a focus on the $$$ means they want you back

    What is the actual reading - see about getting it checked when you are more relaxed

    its always in the 140s/100s i dnt eat a lot of salt, and the exersice and eating a balanced meal should help me but i cant help with the stress weather its the doc or $$ as you mentioned i'm also in school so i am under pressure a lot!

    140 is your heart pumping pressure 100 is the pressure of the blood in your arteries

    While 140 is high - this one is easily affected by the stress of a situation

    Your more worrying one is the 100 which is more affected by lifestyle and eating that you could do with reducing.

    Cardio, careful eating and taking time out to relax

    i've been relaxing a lot trust me!! but it just cant seem to go down
