OMG Phew!! Just done 15 minutes of exercise..did some sits ups using my abdominiser, and jogging on the spot and stretches etc... and that 15 minutes killed me lol!! Especially as my 4 stone labrador kept sitting on my stomach as i did my sit ups and my son fell about laughing. How did you find it when you first started getting active again.. im hoping it gets easier lol. xxx

I started out by walking a little over 2 miles a day. Took me around 45 minutes to do. Then I started adding and extra mile and got up to 3 miles a day. After about a year, I added going around the local mall which added almost 2 more miles.

A few months ago I decided I was going to run a half marathon, so I started running. Now I am at the point that I can run 3 straight miles with out stopping and 5 miles with just a couple of minutes here and there slowing down to a fast walk. It takes time, what I did not do was give up, I recognize that anything worth getting is worth working for. I know things do not happen over night and 2 years later I am so happy for where I am today, and very excited about where I am going to be in 2 more years.

You do what makes you happy. You do not really need a pedometer to track your miles, but they do not hurt. I walked to the gas station and back every day to get a lottery ticket. So I knew how far I was walking from mapping it on the computer. Just work your way into it, every day do one more step, one more sit up, ect. Then one day you will realize how great you are doing. We all have to start some where.
