A few questions - perhaps you would like to answer

I'll start by admitting, I did NOT go through the hundreds of posts to find the answers to all of my questions. I apologize in advance for what is probably ten other posts summed up in one.

Here are my questions, please help me if you can. I really want to get serious about this and know I'm not going to lose weight/tone up the way I'm doing it now.

1. Will a combination of walking 3.5mph and running 5.0mph for 45-60 minutes a day (every day) help me to lose weight and inches?
2. Is there a way I can use the walking/running to get rid of "muffin top" and belly flab? (I currently wear one of those belt things but am not confident it makes a difference.)
3. I've gotten serious about tracking my food and have noticed I go over on sugar A LOT. Is this really so terrible? I'm a big coffee drinker and just this morning by having my coffee and a banana for breakfast, I have zero sugar left for the day (until i exercise later)
4. What would you suggest as great protein snacks/foods? I have read to use lean turkey and steamed chicken but am really bad when it comes to snacks. I've been trying to buy smaller products (or refusing temptation all together) so that i can contain my portion sizes.

In my opinion, I think I look bigger than what the pounds on the scale say because I tend to not eat or barely eat all day and then have a big dinner/snack binge. I KNOW this is unhealthy and breakfast happens to be one of my favorite meals but I'm just not hungry until about 3-5pm. I also look bigger because although I've lost weight, I've done nothing to tone it up. I'm not a big fan of exercising (hopefully it will grow on me) and find the easiest form of exercise for me currently is to walk/run on the treadmill at home when i have time (even if that means breaking up the miles through out the day/evening). I did order the biggest loser kinect game but it hasn't come in yet, hopefully that will help me target my upper body better.

Any suggestions are helpful, thank you for reading. Hope to have a great bod on here like so many of you have today. :)

    1. Any kind of exercise is going to help you lose weight and inches and walking is one of the best things you can do IMO.
    2. I'm told that belly fat is one of the last places affected by diet and exercise but: it WILL go away eventually if you continue to exercise and eat right.
    3. I wouldn't worry too much about natural sugars (from fruit) but if it really bothers you, maybe cut down a little on the sugar in your coffee? If you do a little less each day, it's a lot easier than trying to cut it out all at once.
    4. For snacks, I love greek yogurt with granola or fruit (or both!) Also, any kind of nuts/nut butters, roasted soy beans and cheeses are good for protein. Sometimes I have natural peanut butter with an apple: really good snack and it fills me up for a while.

I had the same problem: just eating breakfast and then not eating until dinner time. Just a habit I had gotten into during college. I actually had to retrain myself to eat during the day. I started with little snacks such as a handful of nuts or a piece of cheese or fruit a couple of hours after breakfast whether I was hungry or not. It was pretty uncomfortable at first because my body wasn't used to it but, after a couple of weeks, I found that I was actually hungry during the day again and I was able to get a better handle on my calorie intake.

I hope that helps a little  Good luck!
