What do you think is the best pedometer I am looking at the Omron Hj-113 and the Yamax SW701 Step Digi-Walker does anyone have one of these or is there a better one? I am looking for something less than $30 that will tell me steps and calories.

I'm not familiar with the Yamax, but I found the Omron to be very reliable and accurate. I would sometimes test out it's accuracy by counting out 100 steps and then checking to see how close the pedometer was. It was usually very close (within a couple of steps + or -). I wore that pedometer for over a year before I upgraded to a FitBit. There was still nothing wrong with my Omron when I upgraded but I just wanted something smaller and more discreet like the FitBit that was small enough to clip onto my bra when I was wearing a dress or an outfit where the Omron would be more obvious on my waistband. I also like that the FitBit has other features like stair tracking and sleep tracking. The FitBit is way out of your desired price range though.

I think you would really like the Omron.

Thanks! I would like to have a fitbit but I just bought a Polar F7 HRM and that was a spluge so maybe I can upgrade to that sometime later.
