Trying to find the best fit.

I am running right now in the neighborhood but I also have a gym membership. I was told that a lot of cardio is better when you are trying to lose weight then get into weights....Is this true? I was also told that jogging outside is better than jogging on a treadmill....is this also true? I am trying to find what is the best work out to lose the weight the fastest. Any help would be much appreciated.

There are varying opinions on this - even the trainers at my gym can't agree. I think the key is to experiment and figure out what works best for you. For me, it is a combination. I lose more weight doing just cardio, than doing just weights, but I lose the most when I am doing both. As far as outside vs. inside, the treadmill is easier on your joints if that is an issue, but the key is to find something you enjoy and will do consistently.0
