do you party?

I'm not in your situation, so I don't have much input here. But I can say that you need to see what you really want. It's okay to go out and drink, but maybe you should just have a little, don't drink to get drunk. Even if people are saying "oh, come on, have another", like they used to tell you in school, just say no lol. Think about how you'll feel later or in the morning, think about how people look at you when you're walking around drunk, think about how you'll look in some years from all the smoking ( very loose skin and wrinkles on the neck and face). Just be smart about it. You can go out and have fun, you don't have to be drunk to have a good time
I'm 24 and have smoked probably 5 times in my life, that's it! I drink only a few times a year, usually holidays or special occasions, and I've never been drunk! I've been tipsy a few times, but never have I been drunk and don't remember where I'm at or woke up feeling crappy the next day. I can have fun without all of that. Plus, I have a 4 year old son now, I definitely don't want my son to grow up with a drunk mother, I don't want him to see me hung over and not paying him attention, he doesn't deserve that! So just think about your life and what you really want out of it and take it slow. You're not gonna stop it all at once0 -
I drink moderately1-2 days a week (wine), then once every other week or so I go out and party hard (vodka and the obligatory cigarette or two). I have been doing this for years, and while I'm sure my organs don't like it, my weight loss (maintenance I should say) and fitness has not suffered because of it. I'm actually in the best shape of my life. The thing with me is, when I drink I hardly eat (and I don't chow when I get home), drinking fills me up, and when I'm hungover I barely eat either. I think the eating with the drinking is where the problems lie. I know my younger sister hits McDonald's after a night out. I've never been guilty of doing that.
So as far as the fitness and weight aspect of it, it has not affected me negatively and with two active kids, two dogs, a big house to take care of, part time job, working out every day, cooking every day, etc., I look forward to my partying. :smokin:0 -
raises hand, Im a metal photographer in NYC
i have to go hard, get sneaky or go home. But the drinking and irregular sleep schedule just became one more obstacle to getting healthy that I proudly worked into keeping in my life. If I love it, I have to justify it.
Ive run half marathons on no sleep with a wicked hangover and the first thing I did at the end was get a beer and a cigarette.
Ive run an entire walk of shame.
Ive switched to drinking a bottle of water between drinks.
I plan which nights Im actually going to drink and which nights I let them think that my ice water is vodka.
I use major concerts and events as deadlines for mile times, weight increases and tiny less important things like... getting into that ridiculously tiny LBD.
I use things like hot tubs to put the fear in me to push harder.
I changed my calorie goals to weekly.
I changed my sleep requirements to weekly.
Because of all the challenges of partying -like a rockstar- and refusing to let them hold me back in my developing awesomeness... Ive actually become better, stronger, slimmer, happier and able to go hard longer0 -
I don't have a problem partying too much, but that's because I *love* my money. Once you see, and really FEEL, how much it hits your wallet, you'll stop. At least that's all the motivation I need....
I wish that were motivation enough for me
maybe I do have issues...*i'm only half joking....sigh0 -

look for lower cal options to what you drink when you go out? Avoid the salty snacks for water retention. Dance while your at the club?0
-
I party hard and I work it into my healthy lifestyle.
Sometimes I indulge in bad foods, but lots of times I'll have a salad with grilled shrimp or something when I'm drinking.
I log all of my alcohol calories. Favorites include red wine or rum & diet Coke.
Granted, when I go out drinking I usually end up walking a lot as a side effect of the city I live in.
Unless I'm on vacation, then the logging bets are off.0 -
Yes, way too hard. I'm still recovering from Sunday night.0
-
I party....I can't imagine not. I always save calories for my "partying". I only do it on weekends though. It's rare that I go crazy during the week.0
-
Back in my single days I used to love going out and partying.
As a dieter, I found the best way to have a good time was to have either Tequila or Vodka shots spaced out with bottles of water.
You still got the good buzz, but very low calories and you don't wake up hung over.
Note: avoid the sweeter shots. Alot more calories in Sambuca than there are in Tequila0 -
Do I party? Oh ya, I party......
My weekends are mine so if I want to go drink Friday or Saturday night I do it with no regrets. Well none about the drinking, regrets about any poor choices I make while drinking are dealt with on a case to case basis. I try to fit in a good workout on saturday if I can but with baseball kicking in and pool party season coming up it's hard.
A good way to help with moderation, and hangover, is alternate alcohol with water. Have a drink and then some water, then another drink and some water, etc. Then a nice breakfast of eggs and green veggies and you and your liver will be good to go.0 -

Both my hubby and I like to party, but I have started trying to limit my drinking to one night per week. I have also realized since I lost weight that I am now a lightweight and it doesn't take much for me anymore.0

This was my excuse! I went out for years in my late teens and earlier 20s. Never spent a dime. I moved to DC almost 3 years ago, and I've yet to have a guy hit on me and buy me a drink at the bar! Completely different crowd here. People are more into talking with their friends (not mingling with nearby women), they have girlfriends already OR ARE MARRIED or gay. Not to mention, the happening time around here, since we all have professional jobs, is HAPPY HOUR! What kind of picking up can men do at HH! DC is not the city for singles.
I quickly stopped drinking because I just can't afford it, and I LOVE MY MONEY. I now drink maybe twice a month on the weekends. I might have a beer at a happy hour or dinner with a friend. And I've been alcohol free since February 23. GO ME!0 -
Nope. I'm happy just enjoying a quiet evening reading a book, or playing some VGs. I'm not much of a party-goer. I don't drink or smoke either.0

The majority of the time, I'm doing the responsible normal mom thing. Working full time, picking the kiddo up from school, heading to t-ball practice, hitting the gym, etc. A glass of wine or a beer here and there.
But then, there are times when my son's at his dad's or we have a babysitter. Then party-Meredith comes out. Old party Meredith didn't give a *kitten* about the calories or whatever. That's why old party Meredith got fat. BUT new party Meredith is really smart! Now, I make sure I get in a great work out that day so I have all kinds of extra calories to play with! I make sure I've eaten sensibly that day, and then party time begins. Last month I went to Vegas for 4 days and drank my body weight in champagne (at least). I lost a pound the following week. I have an annual boat party I go to every year coming up next month that's basically a 7 hour drunk fest on the lake. I plan to drink and party. Why not? It's not like I party every day or anything, but I definitely don't pass up a good time0 -

Haha yes! I guarantee you I could go to 6th street (bars/clubs district here in Austin) with $20, have an amazing time, drinks galore, and come home with that same $20. Just depends on where you are, because I went out with my cousin in Maryland and that was DEFINITELY not the case--we spent sooo much $!0 -

Dude. I sometimes like to drink a bunch of soda and play Cranium with other couples. We might even get some french fries and listen to 90s music. And stay up really late telling stories about our kids.0

yea I know..
like last friday night.
There's a stranger in my bed,
There's a pounding in my head
Glitter all over the room
Pink flamingos in the pool
I smell like a minibar
DJ's passed out in the yard
Barbie's on the barbeque
This a hickie or a bruise
Pictures of last night
Ended up online
I'm screwed
Oh well
It's a blacked out blur
But I'm pretty sure it ruled
Damn
Last Friday night
Yeah, we danced on tabletops
And we took too many shots
Think we kissed but I forgot
Last Friday night
Yeah, we maxed our credit cards
And got kicked out of the bar
So we hit the boulevard
Last Friday night
We went streaking in the park
Skinny dipping in the dark
Then had a ménage à trois
Last Friday night
Yeah I think we broke the law
Always say we're gonna stop
Op-oh-oh
This Friday night
Do it all again
This Friday night
Do it all again
Trying to connect the dots
Don't know what to tell my boss
Think the city towed my car
Chandeliers on the floor
Ripped my favorite party dress
Warrant's out for my arrest
Think I need a ginger ale
That was such an epic fail
Pictures of last night
