How much milk is too much?

A'ight, I love milk. Can drink it all day, sometimes 8-9 glasses/day in moderation when I get the cravings for it. Always enjoyed milk especially the chocolate and strawberry like the little kid inside me or something.
My question is, how much is too much? You can view my diary thing if you want but it is nowhere near accurate and never have everything I've eaten logged in.
today for instance, I've logged in 920 calories for 4 cups of strawberry milk (this isn't much, but I'm stopping after that-milk gets expensive...)
Don't worry about the breakfast, I swear I ate it as well as lunch, but if it ain't 'scannable', it ain't getting logged most likely. I'm lazy about keeping track of food, I just started logging the calorie scene in March and it doesn't stick with me to keep doing it properly. Probably not the best attitude towards trying to get more fit if I can't even properly log food yeah?
As for drinking anything else, I drink water and only water. I'll have a gatorade/poweraid when I'm out cutting grass all day, electrolytes help out in those cases.

I don't think you can have too much milk, as long as it fits in your calories. Milk is good for you! And not expensive, surely?
Strawberry milk I don't know about. Are you blending strawberries into your milk, or is it a flavoured thing from the supermarket? If the latter, it might have a lot of sugar and additives, in which case you possibly could drink too much..0 -
milk is FULL of sugar0

8-9 glasses of milk is not "moderation".0

It's a lot of sugar and you can get too much diary. Like eating cheese. If you eat cheese, you can get bloated and constipated. But I don't know about milk. I just know it has tons of sugar.0

I am with you..I drank 4.5 cups of chocolate milk yesterday. It is so good!
It does get expensive..idk about you but I drink 1% organic horizon chocolate milk. Racks up after a while.
I say continue, but limit. Its not a low Cal drink..0 -

You're bound to get a lot of answers. I'm vegan so I don't drink milk. However, I think an answer that both carnivores and vegans could probably agree on: If your cholesterol is too high, you're probably consuming excessive animal products. How much of that is milk depends on the individual. My wife and daughter drink milk and eat cheese, but they limit the amount. Probably 1 cup of dairy a day, perhaps (milk, butter, cheese in various meals)
strawberry milk is sugar milk. You're right.0 -
yeah, it's 2% milk. A gallon of milk down here rings up anywhere from 6$-8$. I think that's expensive for milk.
Yeah, I know 8-9 glasses of milk ain't "moderation" but it is to me. Though I think I get the general idea to cut down on milk. I'm usually a chocolate milk kind of guy but strawberry 1 day every 9 months or something, rarely drink it. Strawberry as in the syrup, not chopped up strawberries, good idea though0 -
milk is FULL of sugar
I don't think you know the meaning of the word "full."0 -
Try Almond Milk. Much more healthy and nowhere near as much sugar/chemicals/ick. Also, I agree with everyone else that 8-9 glasses of milk per day is a ton. However, it looks like you are already at (or REALLY close to) your goal... so it is kinda a whatever works for you kind of thing.0

is 147 close to a 167 goal?
I guess goalwise it's to be lean or have muscle mass at 167-170. I don't think the milk is going to help that goal out huh?
moderation is fine (that's what, 3-4 cups a day normal?) I've heard that it's a fatty type drink but I figured the increase in milk kind of cancels out the fact I never drink those cokes.0 -
A LOT of a good thing is no longer a good thing. 4 glasses and 900-something calories of strawberry milk is too much strawberry milk. That's a crazy amount of sugar. Use your good judgment, there's no magic number. We're meant to eat a variety of different things. If your diet hinges on one or two foods, you should be eating more variety.
Tons of dairy is hellish on the digestive system.0 -
Milk is better than coke in a zillion different ways so if it's one or the other, I vote stick with the milk. Maybe just leave out the syrup flavouring...0

true, alot of a good thing is no longer a good thing.
Well shoot, I'll keep ya'll posted on my digestive system then, be feelin' it tonight! Nah joking, I ain't going to heh.
Thanks for all ya'll that replied, guess I'll cut it down to about 3 glasses and try to keep the syrup out of it.0 -
Agree w/cutting out the syrup, or possibly using less of it.
The digestive system thing varies by person.0
