I don't want to weigh in so much that I don't see real results but I also don't want to avoid the scale like the plague I think it is. LOL How often is really recommended?

Once a week is the usual recommendation. It totally depends on you, and how much that number on the scale will effect you.

Some people only weigh in once a month - monthly cycle can make weighing in weekly too much stress.

Some people weigh in daily, because the daily variations in weight help with keeping on track. And there is no expectation of a loss or even holding steady every day. Some days will be a gain for a multitude of reasons.

If daily would drive you nuts, and monthly isn't often enough, stick to weekly weigh-ins!

I weigh in after every session at the gym...just because I want to. But I only record my weight once a week after either my Saturday or Sunday morning workout.

I dont. I just go by my clothes and how they fit. I am strength training too so I dont want to get discouraged by weight gain due to muscle. When i was really trying to lose I weighed in every saturday

I weigh daily, first thing in the morning. I also log it daily.

But I understand that there will be daily variances in weight that have little to do with my overall weight loss, and I don't take daily measurements too seriously. Sometimes I've gained a pound or two, sometimes I've lost far more than I know is possible. The daily variances usually boil down to eating too much sodium or not drinking enough water the day before (leading to water retention), or just the foibles of my cheap bathroom scale.

Weigh as often as you are comfortable with, and no more often than that. It's YOUR goal. YOU get to decide how closely you want to track it.

I get weighed every morning and write it in a notebook along with Body Fat percentage that my scale provides (that is Important!) ....otherwise there would be a disaster. I weigh in on MFP once a week. I also weigh in at a TOPS meeting on Thursdays....I am trying to do all I can to STAY FOCUSSED. If I can keep my food journal, I know I will lose weight.
