I am looking for any type of low sodium recipes that you guys have that are good or some good sites to go to search. We can't use anything in a can because of the sodium so its kind of hard being creative. I have found the "healthy" doesn't mean low sodium. Thanks for any help!

I have been cutting out sodium since I started this journey and at first found it difficult to cook tasty meals... but I found a lot of great seasonings that offer great flavors, and no salt. I have had high blood pressure most of my adult life and have been on meds for it. After only 3 months of eating healthy and cutting out sodium, my doctor is taking me off the meds because my BP is under control! SO since I don't want to ever have to go back to the way it was, I needed to find some alternatives. McCormick makes some really nice seasonings as well as Mrs. Dash. I've got every flavor lined up on my stove.... I no longer eat anything out of a tin can... Which is very hard becasue it's much more convienient than keeping fresh veggies and homemade soups. I know what you mean about "healthy" misconceptions... Anything that is labled "fat free", is higher in sodium than things that have fat. Many people think that just because it's lower calories and fat, they are making good choices.. Usually the sodium does more damage than the extra calories. I don't marinade anything anymore unless I use a vinegar based marinade without any salt. Mrs Dash also has some nice salt free marinades on the market...So... fresh is best when it comes to veggies and meats... any of those bagged frozen chicken breasts have sodium added... so it's always better to buy your meat from the butcher and freeze it yourself. I haven't really looked for any magical recipes I just like to experiment in the kitchen, and when a recipe calls for salt, I just spice it up with salt free...lots of garlic!
Hope this helps.. feel free to add me as a friend if you like

I've pulled a lot of low-sodium recipes from Heart-Healthy Living (http://www.hearthealthyonline.com/). Pretty much everything we've tried off that site has been good.
And keep in mind, you can always make something low sodium, just don't add the salt. I rarely do, unfortunately the pre-packaged seasonings tend to be loaded with them (like the taco seasoning I used last night. Even the "lower sodium" one is 480mg per serving!). I rarely ever find myself saying "man, this needs more salt" on something I've just not put it in.0
