Using a fitbit. I am unsure of the right thing to do.

I have recently started this program and I have read the posts about eating your calories. However, I am using a fitbit to keep up with my daily calorie burn/exercise. The site automatically gives me a fitbit adjustment. This is my issue: My calorie goal for each day is 1660 calories and I am showing (right now) 1485 calories in GREEN at the top of my daily report. Does anyone else use the fitbit? Do I need to eat 1485 more calories today, or should I stick with the 1660 I am allotted by the normal daily calculation. (I have about 800 more to eat today by that calculation alone) I have been losing weight, but I am concerned that it is unhealthy to show around 1100 in the calories remaining every day. Can someone help me out?

I'm having the same problem! I hope you can get some answers because I really have no idea! I actually stopped syncing my fitbit to MFP because the calories were making me nuts. lol.

It's my understanding that the FitBit calculated ALL calories burned during the day, correct? Does it also calculate in a calorie deficit for you? If not, then if you ate what FitBit shows as your calories burned you would be eating at maintenance...hence no weight loss. If you want to lose a pound a week, you eat 500 less than your maintenance daily.
I don't own one of these things, so I am just theorizing why there would be a huge discrepancy between it and the cals MFP has calculated for you.0 -
It records all calories you burn for the day, including exercise. It synchs with the fitnesspal site and is automatically adjusted. (It does not transfer all calories you burn from the fitbit to the fitnesspal record.) So if I show on the fitbit recorder(for example) 2800 calories burned for the day, it shows a fitbit adjustment, on the site, for 700 calories. (those are totally random numbers b-t-w)0
