My name is nick and I thought I would share with you all how I managed to shed 41.7kgs in 12 months.
Last year I moved cities and starting living by myself and after a month or two of eating whatever I wanted whenever I wanted (eg. garlic bread/Pizza and a 1.25lt bottle of sprite at 11pm lol) I thought to myself now is the time for me to really take charge of my life and start losing weight. I had weighed myself in February and was SHOCKED to see the number on the scale... 151.1kgs... how did I end up that big? I had always been the fat kid never did I think I would become so obese. So after months of starting and stopping (as we all do) I was browsing the app store one day and found the myfitnesspal app and thought heck why not give it a shot.
12 months later I now weigh 109.4kgs (my goal was to get to 110kg) and still log my meals into myfitnesspal every day (almost lol) . How did I do it?
Throughout the 12 months I had my share of ups and downs, like everyone else I fell of the wagon (hard!! Once it felt like I had fallen face first from a moving truck) but I picked myself up and kept going, the thing that got me through it was logging my meals. I made sure that I was logging my meals every day and not just logging the "good days" but also the bad days too and being completely honest with myself. Also my goal was to walk for 30 mins a day to increase my fitness, even know I try and walk/exercise twice a week to keep myself active.
Also I have a love of food and did not want to eat salads and rabbit food so for me it was important to do this my way with the foods I love for example before I starting becoming healthier I would eat a 2 piece feed from KFC (about 1000 calories) for lunch but I love chicken so instead of that I changed it so I ate a chicken sandwich (300 calories) I also did do a sudden drop in my calories, I slightly lowered what I was eating over the first few months so that there was less chance of me becoming starving haha. Also throughout the last year I have still eaten chocolate and sweets but all in moderation and also I make sure that I log these in my tracker so that I know what I have eaten.
This is how I managed to lose the weight and I am more than happy to answer any questions that anyone has in regards to the weight loss.
Remember it isn't impossible and you do not have to starve yourself or go without to lose the weight.
