Plateaus - eating above/below BMR?

Everytime I read a plateau thread on here, the person is eating either at 1200, or close to it, and under their BMR.
One of the reasons stated for eating above BMR is to avoid plateaus, so has anyone eating over their BMR had a plateau?
and I don't mean a few days, I mean a month of staying the same.
If the plateau stats are pretty even then it's irrelevant , but if they are mostly all from eating under BMR it would be helpul info.
