Super Simple Crock Pot Roast Chicken (with photo)

This Chicken has been cooking in the crock pot since midnight.

It’s sitting on a bed of whole carrots and chopped onions…

…stuffed with seasoned shirataki noodles…

…sprinkled with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper…

…and then topped with sliced garlic.

When I got up, this morning, I turned it down to “low” and used a turkey baster to remove the drippings so that the skin could firm up on the bottom.

This 5 pound chicken cost me less than $5.

Including all the trimmings this will end up being a $9 meal— with plenty of leftovers.

And the house smells divine!

For my informative post on shirataki noodles please follow this link:

If you'd like to look at lots of low-calorie recipes (most of them are original to me) you can check out my MFP blog here:

There are newer posts in my blog that haven't made it into my list so I would recommend perusing around in there for other tips and recipes.

I'm a fearless and adventurous cook and I've done a pretty fair job of taking the calories out of my recipes without taking out the taste, too.

I've done this before-- they taste wonderful!

Remember that they're vegetable based, so it's really not much different than slow cooking the carrots and onions.

You shouldn't have to do ANYTHING-- it should be automatic.

Very strange, because I can see it just fine.

    I'm stumped!
