people who give advice about something (fitness, dating, a new hobby), as if they'd always done it, when, in reality, they've only been at it a week or two.

I've probably done it once or twice too. I'm sure lots of people have.

Doesn't really bother me. IMO it doesn't matter if you've had the knowledge for 20 years or 20 minutes; if it's accurate, it's accurate; If it's true, it's true - no matter how long you've known it. kwim?

I can honestly say I have poo for brains when it comes to a lot of things....
So if people want a good laugh from getting some cockeyed advice, I'm usually who they turn to...

Except cooking and dog training... I own at that.

Sure, but the people giving me advice have no clue what they're talking about. For example, giving me relationship advice when they've never been in a "relationship" longer than a month.

Ah! Ok well that is an entirely different ball game. That's like a kidless person giving child-rearing advice. In THAT case, they get the side-eye. lol But I feel you. I have a few gf's who have tried to "advise" me on dating (which I haven't even begun to think about starting; just got divorced last Oct) and I'm thinking to myself, "I have known you since high school and I've not once seen you with a steady boyfriend". lmbo

When my son was born, and I used to read a lot of child-rearing books I was amazed at how many of the authors still had children at home. That is, they wrote a book on being a good parent, but their kids hadn't graduated from high school even. How can you know you were actually a good parent until your kids join society and succeed? I've been at it for many, many years... I've just never applied my knowledge and so I'm still fat. *shrug*
