Did I miss the start of this thread somewhere? If I did, please direct me to where it is?
twohundredsquats.com is the website this thread is based off of. Anyone is welcome to join!
I overdid the squats and it took me about four days to recover so I fell off the wagon. I have a lot going on right now but I am going to try to do it again this week, starting on Monday. I hope we still have some original "squatters" around  as well as some new people joining.
Two good reasons to work your quads: they are the biggest muscle in your body, so they burn the most fat/cals and stronger quads make for stronger knees, (I heard). I need both of those, so I am going to try to stick this out!
See you all on Monday!

I don't know if there was one for June. I joined this challenge, but am not currently doing it because I am doing a fat burning dvd that really works my legs with squats, lunges, reverse lunges, and plies, so by the time I'm done doing that, my legs are too tired to do any more squats. :ohwell: I am going to see how many consecutive squats I can do, maybe this week, to see how close I am to doing the 200. Good luck everyone.

I guess I am all alone.
I did week 1 day 1 level 2 today. I have found I really don't like squats. Maybe that's why no one else is joining?
    Anyone else?

Hi, well I made it to week 6. I'm taking this week off to rest my legs. Just working on cardio this week. Ya, the 1/2 Marathon-haven't trained very much, but if I can't jog I'll walk. I just want to beat last years time. Keep going girl! :flowerforyou:

Funny that this is just your and my thread.  Anyway, my shoulder is really bugging me-I had surgery twice on it-last being Mar 19, which took a while to recover and extremely painful for a month. I've been off work for 2 years now (am a Clinical Resource Nurse for Newborn Rescuscitation), and was to FINALLY go back in Aug. Now, I have to go in to the Docs next week because of the recent probs, and will lose my job if I'm not back:cry: . My shoulder if held together with 2 screws, and it grinds so I don't know if it's loose or what. I'll be able to run in the Marathon, but no lifting, etc. I'll keep you posted on this Sun.:drinker: Probably will test myself next week when I'm able to walk again-haha, and start the challenge after that. Have a great week. Way to go!:flowerforyou:

Kath, I hope you get a good report on your shoulder this week and you don't lose your job! Let me know what happens, ok? How did the marathon go?
I did week 2 level 2 day 1 today. Wondering if I am going to make it to 200 squats. I know from experience that I have to do the squats after doing some other kind of work out. I injured myself doing it before. I can tell a huge difference in my thighs and rear already so I am going to keep it up!

Hi! Well my daughter and I and many many others weren't too happy with our times-mine was 2:59:33, my 12 yr olds was 2:46:48. I t was over 80 degrees, and people were collapsing everywhere!, Some were in Intensive Care and one guy actually needed full Resuscitation 100' from the finish line. Needless to say, we both had a bad start, and then the negative mindset took over. By mile 6 I phoned my hubby almost in tears. He's very supportive and I knew I couldn't quit. So we both walked a ton of it-my HR was over 80% for almost the full time. Burned 2900 cals! The best part was doing it with my daughter and seeing how many volunteers and people in the city dedicate themselves to supporting with cheers, fluid, etc. Many had sprinklers running for us, homemade icecubes handed out, they bought water bottles, gatorade bottle for us,etc. The encouragement from all walks of life was at times very emotional, and brought tears to my eyes. I don;t think my daughter was old enough to grasp that part of it. After we both said we wouldn;t do it again, and she stands by her word! I think she thought it would be a lot easier. The weather was a huge downfall, and...we didn:t train! I think I:ll do it again next year. Either that, or the relay or maybe even volunteer.
Good for you with the squats! I;m going to try the six week test this weekend and go from there. I can finally walk today! Find out about the shoulder on Monday. Take care my new friend.:drinker: Kath
