cooking food in microwave

I like to have sweet potatoes for lunch and if I forget to cook them the night before, I will cook them in the mircrowave. Does that eliminate all of the nutrition from the food?

According to Harvard Medical, the answer is "usually not." Rather the reverse actually; Harvard indicates that microwaving sometimes does a better job of preserving nutritional value (of the foods which are generally unharmed by heat) than something like boiling would.

I used to be against cooking in the microwave for that reason, but i guess it really isn't all that bad.0
