I have heard, a few times throughout my weight loss journeys. That walking or running in cooler weather burns more calories, because you body has to work harder to keep you warm..hence burning more calories..

    I generally find that it does, but not for the reasons most people cite. When it's colder out, *I* tend to work out harder to stay warm (not an autonomic body response, but my intentional need to stay warm).

    When it's hotter out, I tend to need to take more breaks to cool down. I also perspire a lot more, depleting me of water and dehydrating me so I'm forced to lower the duration and/or intensity of my workout unless I have a ready supply of water.

    I was thinking the same....we are human beings just work harder to get warmer....when its cold...

    I would guess that it does burn a few more calories, but not enough to count.
